COVID-19 Response

Sunday, March 22nd, 2020

We continue to face new challenges daily as this unprecedented Covid-19 situation continues to evolve. The health and safety of our employees, customers, suppliers, and community remains our highest priority. Our leadership continues to work with our teams to reduce risk, provide business continuity, and support our customers with world class service as we have for the past 72 years. You can reference our previous update below outlining some of those measures in place, and we continue to adapt and evolve as the situation changes and we receive new guidance from local, State, and federal authorities.

As a supplier of precision inspection equipment and services, there are many industries that rely on our products and services to produce theirs. We remain a key supplier to the medical, aerospace, and defense industries, which the federal government defines as “Critical Infrastructure” and essential to our national security as outlined in Presidential Directive 21. The official guidance from the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency below states “critical infrastructure industries have a special responsibility in these times to continue operations.”

Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce – March 19th, 2020

In addition, the Department of Defense issued additional guidance clearly stating “If your contract or subcontract supports the development, production, testing, fielding, or sustainment of our weapon systems/software systems, or the infrastructure to support those activities” you are expected to remain open and maintain normal work schedules.

Precision Gage Company is committed to supporting the critical infrastructure of the United States, while taking the necessary precautions to ensure the health, safety, and wellness of our employees, vendors, and customers. We will continue to monitor the communications of the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and all federal, State, and local agencies as this situation continues to evolve and adjust our operations as necessary. We will continue to provide updates to our stakeholders as we’re all in this together.

If there are any additional questions we can answer, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Precision Gage Company treats the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, their families, our customers, suppliers, and community with the utmost importance.  As the Covid-19 pandemic evolves, our leadership team continues to monitor communications and adjust operations, policies, and procedures as required to ensure business continuity through this unprecedented situation. The size of our organization, layout of facilities, use of technology, and ability to adapt has made this transition faster and smoother than it would have been just a few years ago.

We have put in place various preventative procedures to reduce the risk of transmission. These include increased hand washing, cleaning/disinfecting of workstations, and utilization of technology to reduce person to person contact. Our employees will be provided with the necessary and required support to deal with not just an illness should that arise; but things like child-care, flexible scheduling, and working remotely. We continue to monitor the situation and maintain an open dialogue with our team and have a protocol to follow in the event of any illness.

Following guidelines laid out by state and federal authorities we have decided to suspend all travel, on-site visits, and on-site services for all customers and vendors through Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 at which time we will re-evaluate.  We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution to do our part to limit the pace of spread of the virus and keep our employees and their families healthy.

While manufacturing and inspection require a physical presence, our lab and shops are setup to limit person to person contact and touch points through the process. We see no disruption to our manufacturing and supply chain currently; however, we are monitoring those risks on an ongoing basis. In the event we were to see a disruption to our manufacturing on-site, we have a secondary facility, as well as a strong network of suppliers that can support us should the disruption be a localized issue. All supporting operations can be performed remotely, so we intend to see little to no interruption in any of those areas.

Our team at Precision Gage Company remains healthy and looks to support our customers throughout this unprecedented situation. We will continue to work with our employees and suppliers to ensure we can maintain our commitments to our customers while taking any health precautions necessary. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly to discuss.

Respectfully –
