Precision Gage Achieves ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation!

Precision Gage Company is excited to announce that we have been accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). As a gage manufacturer, distributor, and calibration provider we knew that the ISO/IEC 17025 standard better represented our business and would allow our customers to put even more trust in the products and services we provide. This standard covers our Quality Management System, previously ISO 9001 accredited, but also focuses on the competency and proficiency of the inspections we provide.

In order to achieve accreditation quickly we decided to limit our scope for the initial audit. Since taking over Astral Precision Equipment we felt that granite calibration and resurfacing was an area that Precision Gage had the expertise and knowledge that would benefit the most for being accredited. A true craftsman, Don Glau has been finishing and resurfacing granite surface plates and accessories for over 20 years. Adding an OptoDyne Laser and the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation to his toolbox completes his already impressive skill set.

Even though our scope is limited now we do not plan to sit idle. We have so many more capabilities that we are actively working on to grow our scope and better serve our customers. For our master gear and spline gage customers, accredited analytical inspections will be coming soon. For our dimensional gaging customers, we are working on adding accreditation for lengths, diameters, and hand tools calibrations.
